Extended Nursing Care

MediConnect offers shift based care services for patients with chronic conditions that require round the clock management.

Our Fees

We offer a six hour day shift, a six hour night shift, a twelve hour day shift and twelve hour night shift. Rates for each shift can be negotiated based on type of services required. Taxes will be charged separately as applicable. MediConnect will also charge for consumables based solely on usage.  Payments can be made to the visiting nurse in cash, or check. The invoice will be issued immediately on completion of payment.

Our Extended Nursing Services Include

Bed making – occupied and unoccupied bed
Taking vital signs – Oral and axillary temperature, measuring radial pulse, counting respiration and measuring blood pressure
Positioning bedridden patient
Eliminating needs – diaper change, catheter change
Teaching family how to handle medical waste
Bed sore management
Use of pulse oximeter
Performing nebulizer therapy
Supplying oxygen inhalation – Nasal cannula and simple mask
Passive/active physiotherapy
Giving IM and IV injections to patients (requires a prescription)
Colostomy bag management
Wound management and dressing
Performing patient hygiene – Oral care, bed bath, back care, hair wash and perineal care
Lifting, handling and transporting patients
Specimen collection – urine sample, stool sample and sputum specimen
Cold/ice/heat application when required
Oral intake and output measurement
Pediculosis treatment
Glucose checking
Bedside ECG
Setting up IV line for patients (requires a prescription)
Catheter insertion and management (requires a prescription)
